THE NEW VINTAGE IS IN!!! This vintage of Baron de Ley Gran Reserva Rioja has received even higher accolades than the 1998 vintage.

Bright red. Expansive and exotically perfumed, displaying scents of cherry brandy, tobacco, vanilla and dried rose. Pliant and deep in cherry/berry flavor, with spicy pepper and clove notes adding complexity. This is pretty sexy stuff, with strong finishing spiciness and lingering sweetness. You could drink this now but I’m sure it will hold up in a cool cellar for at least another decade.
