This wine surprised me when I first tasted it.  The Wolftrap white (South Africa) is a blend of Viognier (40%), Chenin Blanc (39%) and Grenache Blanc (21%).  It has been aged in oak but is not a predominate flavour.  This wine is smooth full bodied with a spicy aromatic appeal.

Tempus Alba Pleno Reserva (Argentina) – “Tempus Pleno Reserve 2006 is a 50% Malbec – 50% Cabernet Sauvignon blend which, according to our oenologist, highlights the particular characteristics of the grapes that gave birth to this wine.  These grapes come from our own vineyards in Maipu and Lujan de Cuyo.  With a deep, intense red colour and black notes, we highlight in this wine intense aromas of very ripe red fruits and red pepper with vanilla and chocolate hints marked by 15 months of ageing in new oak.  Delightful fruit-forward structure, with ripe tannins and a very harmonious blend of flavors.”  (winery tasting notes)

I am reprinting what is on the back of the bottle of La Frenz Shiraz 2007 because I feel it says everything there is to say about how magnificient this wine tastes.  With the exception maybe of one thing – YUM!!
