A medium-bodied, dry, slightly rich wine with flavours of tropical fruit and pear. Which linger on through the refreshing finish.” (website)

Jackson Estate Stich Sauvignon Blanc 2009 (New Zealand) – “Named for owner and founder John “Stich” Stichbury, passion fruit and riper citrus dominate aromatics, and the palate follows in fruit flavour profile. A fine but well integrated acidity directs these intense primary flavours, giving flesh and texture and also cleansing the palate in a food friendly manner.” (website) Category Champion – Wine Access (Canada) July 2010
Yellowglen Pink sparkling wine (Australia) – “A soft, rosy blush shade, Pink has lots of bubbles and smells of strawberries. Beautiful berry flavours are enhanced with citrus, making Pink a party in your glass! (website)
Sweet Nikki Brown (Half Pints Brewing – Winnipeg, MB) – “…it’s a little sweet, and a little bitter. Brewed in the American Brown tradition, this hoppy ale is nut brown in colour…The addition of two different British crystal malts give the beer a sweet, fruity flavour while Belgian Biscuit and Chocolate malts lend a deep, nutty complex character..to the finish. I’ve used UK Golding and Yakima Valley Cascade hops to add a flowery citrus finish to the beer. Try it with a ploughman’s lunch of Rye bread, Asiago cheese and deli pickles. Serve at 8C in a pint glass. Bottle may contain sediment.” (brewmaster’s notes)
Squire Scotch Ale (Cannery Brewing – BC) – “…Squire Scotch Ale is rich in both flavour and tradition. This variety of pale ale is defined by malt flavours that are strong and smoky with a touch of sweetness. The deep caramel colour and gentle hop profile round out this classic style ale. ” (website) This beer won a Gold Medal at the 2010 Canadian Brewing Awards.

Coudoulet de Beaucastel Red (France)
Moselland Art Vitis Riesling (Germany)
Sortilege Maple Syrup & Whisky
“The complex nose melds mineral notes and tropical fruit aromas with bright acidity, creamy texture, and a lingering finish.” (label on wine bottle) I agree with this assessment of the Errazuriz Wild Ferment Chardonnay 2009; however, it is better described in the write up in the Wine Access magazine Dec10/Jan11: “A … pleasure is this drop-dead-gorgeous homage to Mersault. Muddled lemon, nectarine and peaches dominate, with a ribbon of butterscotch. Stunning…90 points” (Kurtis Kolt)
