Nothing says summer like a cold refreshing Margarita.  There are three different types of margarita – shaken with ice and served on the rocks (built), blended with ice (frozen margarita), or without ice (straight up).  It all depends on how you like to enjoy them.

Patron Ultimate Margarita

1 1/2 oz Patron Silver Tequila
1 oz Patron Citronge Liqueur
juice of 1/2 fresh lime
juice of 1/2 fresh lemon

blend or serve on the rocks and enjoy.

This week we have brought in a new Greek wine, a new flavoured vodka, and of course another scotch

Boutari Moschofilero - Greek white wine – it looks like it could be a new favourite white wine for the summer.  Serve chilled on your deck while enjoying some mediterranean tapas.

Reserva del Senor Premium Almendrado Tequila – an almond flavoured tequila.  I hear it is GREAT in coffee with Baileys.
Creme de Cassis de dijon – a blackcurrant flavoured liqueur.  Try it with some white wine (kir) or champagne (kir royale).

This week’s red wine heralds from South Australia.  It is chock full of berry flavours particularly blackcurrants, oak completes the package with a smooth long finish.  Great with red meats such as beef or lamb.  This wine is a nice compliment to any cheese plate too.  Check out Jacob’s Creek Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2006.

Try a new white from Canada.  This chardonnay is from the Burrowing Owl winery in BC.  Crisp apple notes are smoothed with subtle hints of oak.  Drink now or cellar for another year allowing the flavours to harmonize.  Try Burrowing Owl Chardonnay 2007 today.
